Overview
A short Himalayan yatra that packs a lot in. The overnight drive from Delhi brings you to Devprayag at dawn, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi meet to form the Ganga. From there the route climbs past Maa Dhari Devi Temple and the Omkareshwar Temple at Ukhimath to Chopta, where the group checks in to a homestay for an evening of games, music and — weather and local conditions permitting — a bonfire.
The next morning is the trek: Chopta to Tungnath Temple, one of the highest Shiva temples in the world, and on to the Chandrashila summit for panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges. After the descent to Chopta, the group begins the overnight journey back to Delhi.
